IVR (Menu Options)

Interactive Voice Response - "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Service" - followed by sub menus. Customers must provide recording to SpinTel to create the IVR.

Queues

Queues are used by the system to queue your customer’s calls until a resource becomes available. Advertisements or music can be played while on hold.

Conferences

A conference allows a group of people to participate in a phone call. When users leave or arrive they can be announced. A maximum number of participants can also be set.

Extension Dialling

Each user on the system is allocated an extension and can be called via this extension. Extensions can be located anywhere in Australia, thereby providing you with free calls between locations.

Park Call

Park a caller and a voice prompt reads out what slot they are using (e.g. slot 701). Another person who needs to pick up the call dials 701 to answer the parked call.

Call Transfer

When the call is placed on hold, a call is placed to another extension. A conversation can take place privately before the caller on hold is connected to the new extension.

Voicemail

You can have voicemail on every extension, and passcodes can be set to restrict access.

Voicemail to email

This simply attaches any voicemails into an email as an audio file and emails to the recipient’s email address.

Ring Groups

"Ring Groups" sends a call to be received by more than one internal extensions. This feature is used most often for picking up calls received on a certain line and sending them to a certain department.

Time Conditions

Allows you to configure times of day that a certain IVR or call flow takes place. For example: Outside of business hours calls might divert to mobile, or they might be greeted by a prompt that says, "We are closed, please call back between 9am and 5pm".

Call Recording

Crucial to certain endeavours. Recorded data is often used during decision-making processes that affect operations, ideally improving productivity. Data aggregated from recordings works into training material, provides analytics during reviews and assists in special scenarios.

Music On Hold

Play custom music or advertisements while your customers are waiting for you to answer their call. SpinTel offers a default 'free' music file if you can’t provide your own.

Announcements are recordings plus an action. An announcement is configured in such a way that it, first of all, plays the announcement / recording, and can then perform an action afterwards.

This FAQ will answer some of the more general questions you might have about your order, click a question below to fast-forward to a section.

You'll generally receive your first bill when your service is activated. It will contain any set up and other one-off charges such as modem charges, as well as a pro-rata charge till the end of the billing period.

Your second bill will contain a full month's charge for your services and will generally be received about the same time each month. You can read more about our billing.

All of our products are covered by SpinTel's Standard Form of Agreement and are subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

  • Prices displayed on this page include GST.
  • Payment options include direct debit from a nominated savings, cheque or credit card account.
  • Service is billed monthly in advance.
  • Service is not available in all areas.
  • Plan is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
  • 30 days' notice is required for cancellation of services.
  • We will notify you prior to proceeding if you're not able to retain your current landline number.
  • Connection times may vary if you do not have an active telephone service and we will advise you of a connection timeframe once the order has been placed.
  • 'Free Setup' refers to an active phone line that is being transferred to us. Phone connection fees may apply for reactivations, technician visits or cabling of new lines.
  • 39¢ call connection charge applies to timed calls and is in addition to International Special or max cost call rates.
  • Timed calls are billed in 60 second increments.
  • Both the phone and broadband service will be contracted for the elected term.
  • The Top 50 International Special is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Should you have a rented Telstra telephone handset, it is advisable to return the device to avoid a $50 handset purchase charge. Furthermore, if you are paying handset rental with your current provider, this monthly charge may continue to be billed by SpinTel until you return the handset.
  • Home phone features you may have activated with your current provider may be transferred and monthly fees for those features will be billed by SpinTel.
  • Some home phone features may not be compatible and complex services such as Line Hunt, FaxStream or Indial may not be available on this service. If you currently have one of these services, you may be required to remove them prior to submitting your application. Features such as redirections and auxiliary numbers may be cancelled on transfer.
  • Calls to 13 & 1300 numbers are charged at 40¢ per call.
  • An early termination fee of $99 pro-rata applies to the home phone service should you cancel within your contract term.
  • An early termination fee of $99 pro-rata applies to the broadband service should you cancel within your contract term.
  • Promotional contract credit applied monthly across the duration of the contract and may be withdrawn if the service is terminated early.
  • You may change plans at any time during your contract.
  • There is no charge to upgrade or downgrade your plan.
  • Service connection time is between 2 and 14 working days.
  • Upload data is un-metered.
  • Data usage is counted in gigabytes where 1 gigabyte (GB) = 1000 megabytes (MB).
  • Unused download data is forfeited at the end of each billing month.
  • Should you transfer your phone to another provider within your contract period, your broadband monthly access fee will be changed to the monthly bundled rate.
  • The service will be delivered over the Telstra Wholesale or Optus Wholesale network.
  • Services without the Auto Data Block option will be shaped to 256Kbps once data limit is reached for that billing period.
